Abstract: Natural science concerns with the description, understanding, and prediction of natural phenomena in our Universe. Physics focuses on matter, motion, energy, and fundamental forces, serving as the foundational science for other natural sciences as they operate under the same physical laws. Here I present a theoretical physicist’s perspective of physics as science, philosophy, practice, and research topic, reviewing the development of quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, and string theory.
